Public transport

 

Thonglor encompasses the area around Sukhumvit Road from Soi 49 to 57 in the North and Soi 32 to 40 in the South. The primary public transportation hub is the Thonglor BTS Station on the Sukhumvit Line, making this area well connected and easily reachable from anywhere in Bangkok. A north-south monorail line (The Grey Line) is planned and will stop along Soi Thonglor and interchange at Thonglor BTS Station. Visitors also have the option to take the scenic route on the public ferry available at Thonglor Boat Station along the Saen Saep Canal.

  • Badmotel, hosting DJ events, launch parties and playing hip hop music making it a favorite for the youth in the Thonglor area.
  • Beer Belly, offering a large selection of craft beer and a great selection of international beers to go with Thai snacks.
  • Backstage Cocktail Bar, serving creative cocktails with their most notable drinks being beetroot-infused tequila with mezcal, vermouth, Campari and artichoke liqueur.
  • J Boroski Mixology, serving unique cocktails created by one of the world’s top mixologists, this bar is so exclusive that the address is not officially listed. With drinks costing up to THB 800 it is amongst the most expensive bars in Bangkok.
     

Leisure and Fitness

A wide variety of daytime leisure activities are available in Thonglor to suit the entire family. Thonglor Art Space is a five-story building on Soi Thonglor offering a variety of concerts, gallery exhibitions, crafts workshops, film screenings, live paintings and more.

The Racquet Club, on Sukhumvit Soi 49/9 is a family exercise center that includes fitness equipment, tennis, badminton and squash courts, a swimming pool, billiards and snooker tables, rock climbing walls and other exciting sporting facilities.

RSM Academy, located on the second floor of Seenspace in Soi 13 is a well-known Thai boxing (muay Thai) school.
Health Land Spa & Massage in nearby Sukhumvit 63 is a massage and spa center that is very popular with local Thais and foreigners. 
 

Fashion, Culture and Arts
 

Fashionistas will want to visit the flagship shop of local fashion designer, Monlada, on Thonglor Soi 13. The designer’s specialty is fun fashion for modern women with a romantic and sexy flair. Smart business casual attire for men is also featured.

One BTS stop away at Phrom Phong is 11.6-acre Benjasiri Park, next door to the Emporium shopping complex featuring an ornamental lake and contemporary sculptures by Thai artists.

Down Sukhumvit Road near Ekkamai BTS is The Science Centre for Education, the home of Bangkok Planetarium and many nature exhibits.

Thonglor boasts a variety of outstanding schools, among them Bangkok Prep International School, Trinity International School, Chamchan School, New Bambino International, Kobato International and Melodies International Kindergartens. Ekkamai International School is also located nearby.
