Tha Phra

Tha Phra
The Tha Phra neighborhood is centered around Ratchadapisek Road from Mahai Sawan Junction near Rama 3 Bridge to the Tha Phra Junction at Phetkasem Road. The area is bisected by Ratchaphruek Road and the BTS (Skytrain) Silom Line. This neighborhood is a well-established community for Thais of Chinese ancestry and is far removed from the center of Bangkok and generally considered a quiet and relatively tranquil area.
Currently served by BTS Talat Phlu, Pho Nimit and Wutthakat Stations, in 2019 the MRT Blue Line was extended west from Hua Lamphong to Tha Phra Station and beyond, connecting at BTS Bang Wa Station. In 2020, the line was further extended north to Tao Poon, forming a loop around Bangkok. These projects have led to an increase in residential developments in this neighborhood and have driven up the value of the real estate due to the location being conveniently outside of the city center, whilst still relatively accessible via the newly developed public transport system.
Recent Developments and Average Prices
Being removed from the center of Bangkok, the prices in this neighborhood are generally on the lower end of the spectrum, regardless, buyers get great value for money with average prices at THB 80,000 – 120,00 per square meter. Recent projects include:

The largest shopping mall in the neighborhood is The Mall Thapra at Ratchadapisek near BTS Talat Phlu Station, boasting a Home Fresh Market supermarket. A Tesco Lotus Express is at Charan Sanitwong Soi 13, and a Max Valu Tanjai is located at the IDEO Sathorn – Thaphra project next to BTS Pho Nimit. Seacon Bangkae at Phatkasem Road is next to the new MRT Phasi Charoen Station, about 3.0 kilometers from BTS Bang Wa.
