Ratchathewi - Victory Monument
Ratchathewi – Victory Monument is the corridor from South of Petchaburi Road north to the Victory Monument, and from Rama 6 Road to the west and Phahonyothin Road to the east. It encompasses BTS Ratchathewi, Phaya Thai and Victory Monument Stations, and Airport Rail Link (ARL) Phaya Thai and Ratchaprarop Stations. The MRT Orange Line (Western Extension), planned to open in 2025, will interchange at BTS Ratchathewi, with stations at Pratunam, Ratchaprarop and Rang Nam. Victory Monument is also a hub for many bus lines. Surrounded by diverse street food and lively bars, Victory Monument is the forefront landmark representing the district as well as one of Bangkok’s busiest and most congested intersections.
Residents are mainly Thais, especially Chulalongkorn University students and staff, and people who work in the city center, with some western expats. Many government offices are located along Phahonyothin Road and Rama 6 Road.

Platinum Fashion Mall at Petchaburi Road near Ratchadamri Road is a popular indoor shopping destination filled with retail and wholesale clothing shops. Queen Savang Vadhana Museum and the surrounding grounds of Sra Pathum Palace are located on Phaya Thai Road north of Rama 1 Road. Nearby on Phaya Thai Road is the Bangkok Art and Cultural Center, offering art exhibitions, classes, artist supply stores and a small concert hall for classical music events. Suan Pukkad Palace at Si Ayutthaya Road features a group of four traditional Thai houses connected by covered hallways and another four separated Thai houses.
