Rama 4
The Rama 4 neighborhood, stretching approximately from Rama 4 Junction (with Rama 3 Road) to Witthayu Junction (with Wireless and South Sathorn Roads), and including the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center area, is the site of several major new condominium and mixed-use development projects. The area is served by MRT (subway) Lumpini, Khlong Toei and Queen Sirikit National Convention Center Stations, with easy access to central business districts at Silom/Sathorn and Asoke. Residents are mostly working Thais.
Recent Developments and Average Prices
Condominium developments in the area average THB 190,000 – 220,000 per square meter and include:
- IDEO Mobi Rama 4, developed by Ananda Development, units priced from THB 6.09 to 28.5 million (THB 131,000 per/sq. m.), completed in 2020.
- Siamese Exclusive Queens, developed by Siamese Asset, units priced from THB 5.9 to 46.2 (THB 239,000 per/sq. m.), completed in 2019.
- One Bangkok, phased opening from 2022 at Rama 4 and Wireless Roads opposite Lumpini Park, with five office towers, five luxury hotels, three ultra-luxury residential towers, four retail areas and cultural spaces.

The recently completed 12-storey FYI Center, at the intersection of Rama 4 and Ratchadapisek Roads and connecting to nearby Queen Sirikit National Convention Center offers high-end office space with the Moderna Hotel and a luxury business club in the same complex. Several Thai government offices are also based in the Rama 4 area including the Thailand Tobacco Monopoly, the Metropolitan Electricity Authority, the Port Authority of Thailand and the Thai Customs Department.
El Mercado Bangkok, or “The Chef's Market”, at Soi Phai Singto near Queen Sirikit Center is an excellent source for gourmet meats, cheeses and vegetables. The Khlong Toei Market, at Rama 4 Road near Ratchadapisek Road, offers a vast and fresh array of Thailand's diverse agricultural products. Nearby on Rama 4 (at Soi Ari) are Big C Extra and the K Village lifestyle mall as well as Tesco Lotus Extra Rama 4 on the opposite side of Rama 4 Road. The PARQ, a mixed-use project next to Queen Sirikit Center has also opened up in 2019 with a large retail space.

NightLife
Most of the area’s nightlife centers around Surawong Road and Patpong near MRT Silom and BTS Sala Daeng Stations. At Surawong about 50 meters from Rama 4 Road is Thaniya Road, with numerous bars and clubs catering to Japanese clientele. A bit further down Surawong is a cluster of provocatively named gay bars. Nearby is the Surawong entrance to the Patpong complex of bars, clubs, restaurants and shops. For something closer to home, Chuea Phloeng Road is home to Seasoning and Black Sheep Sweet Dream, cozy restaurant bars with live music.
Leisure, Fitness and Religion
Benjakitti Park, adjoining Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, includes a central lake, an outdoor exercise area, a cycling track and a path for walkers and joggers. Bicycles and boats can be rented. Nearby Lumpini Park, stretching from MRT Si Lom to Lumpini Stations, is the neighborhood's primary green space, offering walking and jogging trails, playgrounds, and a lake where boats can be rented. Another small city park is located at Soi Ngam Duphli.
Nearby on Sukhumvit Soi 26 are several attractions. Flow House Bangkok is an artificial outdoor pool for surfers of all ages. For those new to boarding or surfing, skilled instructors are available. Funarium is the largest indoor playground in Bangkok, a perfect place for families with children to spend time together, with world-class-safety play equipment, arts & crafts activities and a cafe serving healthy local and international cuisine. Yunomori Onsen and Spa, opposite K Village, is the first authentic Japanese onsen and spa in Thailand, bringing ancient Japanese onsen bathing culture together with traditional Thai massage to create a uniquely relaxing experience.
Many churches are within easy reach of the Rama 4 area. These include the Evangelical Church of Bangkok, Calvary Baptist Church, Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Immanuel Lutheran Church, Bangkok International United Pentecostal Church and Christ Church Bangkok.
Education and Healthcare
Neighborhood schools include Khlong Toei Wittaya School, Suan Lumphini School and Vocational Training Center Lumpini Park. Other nearby schools are Sacred Heart Convent School, Wattana Wittaya School, Prasarnmit Demonstration School, Sai Nampueng School, Sai Namthip School, Srinakharinwirot University and Chulalongkorn University. Also of interest are Le Cordon Bleu Culinary School Dusit and House of Taste Thai Cooking School.
Primary hospitals in the neighborhood are BNH Hospital and Medical Center at Convent Road, Bangkok Christian Hospital at Silom Road Patpong Soi 1 and King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital at Sala Daeng Junction. Nearby are Tha Ruea Hospital at Kasem Rat Road and Theptarin Hospital at Rama 4 Road. Recently opened is Medpark in the PARQ mixed-use complex.
